Hot News 2005 March 28 NTRC employees are discontented with the new management and willing to act decisively
State Secretary, Dastan Sarygulov, issued a new guide for the National TV and radio Company workers. Sultan Abdrahmanov was appointed as the NTRC President along with Kadyr Koshlieyv and Beishenbek Bekeshev - as new vice presidents. The employees, at large, believe that Sarygulov made a hasty decision, i.e. the company’s management shouldn’t have been appointed unilaterally by the State Secretary, but by the Parliament. The same day later, Zhainagul Maksimova, Tamara Valiyeva, Zhyldyz Muslimova, Zhenishkul Ozubekova and Daniyar Zharkynbayev, NTRC representatives, issued an address to new rulers of the country. “Today, we should develop a new policy for recruiting staff. We hoped that the old principle for appointing people would be changed, to ensure staff’ opinions are taken into consideration. The case is that two individuals Abdrahmanov and Bekeshev, who are now representatives of the new administration, represent the radical Islamic movement in Kyrgyzstan. According to the Constitution, Kyrgyzstan is a secular state, which means that the NTRC shouldn’t be its mouthpiece,” the address says. According to Valiyeva, the staff strongly support this decision, and thus in case their demands are not considered, they will try to stop broadcasting. |
