March 28 The community discusses a possibility to establish a public television based on the KTR
Internews-Kyrgyzstan, PA Journalists, and Almaz Radion, in conjunction with other NGOs and media outlets in Kyrgyzstan held a roundtable to discuss a possibility to change a status of the Kyrgyz TV and Radio Company from the National Television to the Public Television. Journalists with all media outlets in the country and interested parties were encouraged to participate in the roundtable. The Parliament is the only body to decide whether to change the status and place state-run media under community rule. |
