Hot News 2005 April 02 Mass media in South region of Kyrgyzstan addressed the Parliament and Government of the RK
A round table took place on April 2 in Jalalabat, with participation of media representatives in south region, international and public organizations’ representatives, as Soros Foundation-Kyrgyzstan, Internews, Mass Media Association and Osh Resource Center. Round table participants discussed issues and problems, faced by local media, decided to make a proposal for the authorities to create a new working group to develop a draft law “On Public Television”, abolish a decree of the GKRCh on distributing frequencies at auction and pass a new provision “On Competition on radio frequencies distribution.” The statement covered other valuable suggestions about developing local media outlets.
