April 05 Seized copies of the paper, which had been closed by the authorities, were found in Bishkek
All copies of 23 May 2003 Moya Stolitsa newspaper were found at Bishkek state-run terminal company “Karybaltinsk distillery”. Witnesses say this edition contained article “Under the thin cover of the fears – abyss?” which was critical of President’s son-in-law. The article accused him of taking control over the biggest industrial company in Kyrgyzstan for no legal grounds. The article was the reason why the President’s son-in-law Adil Toigonbayev ordered to bring all the copies of the newspaper from Uchkun state-run printing company to Krabalta distillery. One year later, the newspaper’s copies were sent to the company’s branch in Bishkek. |
