TV companies in the south Kyrgyzstan are concerned over the criticism expressed by Vice Prime Minister against Uzbek-language media outlets

Osh TV, Mezon TV, DDK channels, which broadcast within the territory of south Kyrgyzstan, issued a statement to the state administration, expressing concern over the words said by Adahan Madumarov at the media forum in Bishkek on 31 May 2005. According to the journalists, the Vice Prime Minister criticized those channels in the south of the country, which broadcast in Uzbek language, referring to the current situation, demonstrating there are no Kyrgyz-language TV channels in the country. “It turns out that there are shouldn’t be TV channels, broadcasting in Uzbek language in Kyrgyzstan as well,” the statement says. They asked the officials to explain if the above words of Madumarov are the part of the state policy or not.
