June 06 State officials prevent refugees from communicating with the press
Media workers are prevented from entering the refugee camp. According to Abdumalik Sharipov, reporter for Pravo dlya vseh, Human Rights Bulletin in Zhalalabat, regional authorities prevent any exchange of information between the two parties. A person, working for Osh Department of Migration Agency, who wished to remain unknown, agreed on the fact that information is being blocked. “According to the high order, media staff are denied entry. On the other hand, refugees have no other sources of information. Especially this prohibition concerns MSN and Fergana newspapers,” he said. |
