Hot News 2005 June 17 Vecherniy Bishkek photo reporter was attacked by unknown individuals
Eugeniy Petriychuk, a photo reporter with Vecherniy Bishkek newspaper, was attacked by unknown individuals, while covering the Government House being seized by protesters. The attackers twisted journalist’s hands, grabbed his photo camera and lighted the tape. National Security Service’s officers denied any involvement in the incident. According to an NSC’ spokesman, who wished to remain anonymous, the attackers were Government House’s State Security Service officers.
