Hot News 2005 July 21 The Ministry of Internal Affairs refused to comment on a Kyrgyz journalist
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan hasn’t respond to the arrest of the Kyrgyz journalist Erkin Yakubzhanov by Uzbek frontier guards. The MFD press service informed: “At present moment relevant bodies are investigating the circumstances of the case.” Yakubzhanov was arrested by the frontier guards of Dustlik checkpoint while interviewing citizens of Uzbekistan, crossing the border. The MFD reported the journalist was taken to Uzbekistan after the incident that took place on 18 July
