Hot News 2005 July 26 Prosecutor plans to begin disciplinary proceedings against Ermek Umetov, editor for the paper Talas Turmushi
Talas Regional Prosecutor’s Office checked financial activities of the state-run newspaper Talas Turmushi, and found such violations as evading advertisement tax, purchasing and privatizing a vehicle without technical documents. As a result, the regional paper received a bill, for failing to pay the tax, amounting to 10 455 soms ($260), and fine equal to 50% of the amount to pay. Regional Prosecutor Kalmatov sent Aidaraliyev a request to begin disciplinary proceedings against Ermek Umetov, editor for the paper.
