Acting Prime Minister Felix Kulov proposed to improve ways for people to access media outlets

 

Government Session raised a problem of people’s mass access to media outlets. During the session, acting Prime Minister Felix Kulov proposed to improve ways for people to access media outlets. In Particular he stressed on broadcasting quality in remote areas of the country. Under Kulov, rural population is unaware of current events, happening in the country. He noted that that all these problems are due to money shortage, but under market economy conditions there are other possibilities to solve them. Universal Information Access Centers could be created, providing people with the Internet, Email and telephone connection. He also mentioned that one of the most sensitive problems by now was TV and Radio Broadcasting in Kyrgyz language, especially in the South of the country. Kulov believes there is a need to have a relief system for media outlets, whose Kyrgyz-language programmes exceed 70% of the total airtime.
