Hot News 2005 August 29 NTS management protested against words of acting Vice-Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adahan Madumarov
NTS company management issued an open letter addressed to acting Vice-Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adahan Madumarov, following his interview aired by Piramida TV Channel. In his interview, Mr. Madumarov criticized an agreement between NTS TV Channel and “Pervyi Kanal.Vsemirnaya Set’” company, allowing NTS to rebroadcast all the programmes produced by Pervyi Kanal throughout the country. Madumarov said the Russian TV Channel acted badly, when decided to pursue not state, but their corporative interests. NTS management treats his words as tactless and baseless, more so because this particular state official is charged with coordinating media outlets in the country. According to journalists, the agreement they concluded with the Russian TV Channel was based on legislation of the KR. “All the media products are commodities like cars, flats or mobile phones. All commodities have an owner, who has a right to dispose of it. It’s very strange, that Madumarov pretends not to know the core of this,” said in the letter.
