Hot News 2005 October 4 Local authorities failed to provide funds to its printing body
Leilek district state administration refused to subsidize district newspaper Ata Zhurt that has a role of its formal printing body. “The paper received only one tenth of the budget assigned – 50 thousand soms ($1250). In the meantime, the public servants failed to relieve us of the obligations to the district state administration. We still have to implement any order from “above,” the chief editor Abdilat Doorov said. The staff say money received in subsidies is not enough to even cover taxes and dept to the Social Fund, that exceeds 110 thousand soms ($2750).
