Hot News 2004 September 15 Vecherniy Dushanbe newspaper submitted an appeal to the Tajikistan Supreme Court
On September 15 2004, Saydalli Sidikov, an editor-in-chief for Vecherniy Dushanbe newspaper appealed against Khalton court decision that newspaper editorial board pay 5,000,00 somoni (USD 1,700) to judge Amirov in “moral compensation”. He submitted the appeal to the Supreme Court of the Tajik Republic. Sidikov stated before the court that the codefendant Jurayev, a lawyer of Vecherniy Dushanbe newspaper, proved the plaintiff’s claims and allegations against him and the newspaper were wrong, but still the Khalton court judge Kasymov ruled in favor of the plaintiff.
