Hot News 2004 November 9 Court obliged Tajikiston newspaper to retract the article
On November 9, judge R. Ismatov of the city economic court, having heard all arguments of both parties, dismissed the plaintiff’s claims for 10 thousand- somoni compensation in moral damages, but obliged the newspaper to retract the article “Monsters- cannibals eat people: Barki Tochik, Todjigas, Naftrason, TJD and other companies”. So that the newspaper should indicate that the statement above and a picture in it have no bearing on TJD. The lawsuit based on “protection of honor, dignity and business reputation” by Unitary state enterprise “Tajik Railroad” (TJD) against Tojikiston newspaper was caused by this article. It stated that companies- monopolists increased prices for services, they provide, from 75% to 300%.
