Hot News 2004 December 23 Abdullayev, dean of the National State University v. Nerui Sukhan weekly
On December 21, Nerui Suhan weekly was tried before district court named after Fidarusi in Dushanbe. Abdullayev filed a protection lawsuit against the weekly. Radif weekly editor, freelance journalists Mirzoyev and Aminov, who published material in the weekly accusing Abdullayev of taking bribes, were codefendants in the case. Abdullayev demands that the defendants pay him 200,000 somoni-compensation in moral damages (approx. $66,000).
