On June 1, Soghdiy regional prosecutor’s office confirmed the journalist Djumaboi Tolibov had been arrested. The deputy prosecutor for the region, Izatullo Muhamadiyev, informed the Regional Prosecutor’s Office and Internal Department Affairs brought 2 criminal actions against the journalist on charges of hooliganism and obstructing the officer. The deputy prosecutor noted Tolibov’s arrest is not related to his professional activities, including publishing the materials critical of the prosecutor.
